- Explain the fundamental aspects of perinatal mental health, including the biopsychosocial factors that influence emotional well-being during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
- Recognize common emotional and psychological challenges experienced during the perinatal period, distinguishing between normative distress and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), as well as the impact of maternal preoccupation on mental health.
- Identify key barriers to care and the importance of psychoeducation, highlighting the role of healthcare providers in normalizing conversations about perinatal mental health and supporting early intervention.

Cori Galdo, MA, LMHC is a licensed psychotherapist with over a decade of experience supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, life transitions, and perinatal mental health challenges. She integrates evidence-based modalities including CBT, exposure response prevention, ACT, and mindfulness.
Cori holds an MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from NYU and is a magna cum laude graduate of Santa Clara University. She has advanced training from the Beck Institute, the Albert Ellis Institute, and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Sciences.
As a longtime instructor for the Seleni Institute, Cori has trained hundreds of clinicians—both in the U.S. and internationally—in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, grief, and fertility-related distress. Her clinical approach blends academic rigor with deep cultural competency.

Continuing Education Approvals
Continuing education (CE) certificates will only be provided to those who meet the full participation requirement. Successful completion for the award of approved CE credits requires attendance at the entire program, a post-exam quiz (10-questions), and submission of a completed evaluation form.
- ACE Approved Provider of Continuing Education Contact Hours: Adelphi University School of Social Work: Continuing Education and Professional Development, #1786, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers.
